Muriel Henchman Park is a popular launching point for motorised and non-motorised craft accessing Marine Stadium, the Broadwater, Gold Coast Seaway and open ocean.
BENEFITS
- Improved vessel launching areas that provide safe and efficient arrangement for launching and retrieving vessels
- Increase in the number of boat ramp lanes to cater for more traffic movements, especially during peak periods
- Additional parking bays for cars and cars with boat trailers
- New public amenities, shade shelter, pathways, landscaping, and park embellishments
- Dedicated area for community clubs to meet and safely store their equipment.
IMPACTS
- During construction, the number of car parks and boat ramps is likely to be reduced to enable the improvements to be undertaken
- Some noise will be generated by construction works
