Works underway to improve access to Sand Bypass System jetty
We’re making some more improvements to the Sand Bypass System jetty with a new access ramp being included in works underway at The Spit.
The ramp’s been designed to meet current accessibility codes and standards and should be open to the public by December 2020.
The work is being timed to coincide with the upgrade of the jetty decking which is nearing completion.
We’ll need to demolish the jetty kiosk to make way for the ramp.
The pathway beside the jetty will be temporarily closed off during the demolition works for safety reasons.
A temporary access path to the beach will be in place between the Sand Bypass System compound and the solar farm from Wednesday 1st July – Wednesday 15th July – please see the map below.
