Hosting an international event such as the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018) is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the diverse landscape of the Gold Coast to audiences around the world, from the pristine coastline to the spectacular hinterland.
To ensure the safety and security of athletes, officials, spectators and the community, there will be changes to the road network and waterways during GC2018. Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation (GOLDOC), City of Gold Coast, Queensland Police Service and the Department of Transport and Main Roads are working together to ensure these world-class events can be carried out safely while minimising the inconvenience to local residents and businesses.
