From next Monday there’ll be some survey work in Marine Stadium to prepare for a new project being delivered as part of the implementation of the Spit Master Plan.

A rig will be taking geological samples from the seabed and two adjacent sites on land to help with design works for a new pontoon and jetty planned for the northern end of Marine Stadium. The project is part of the $30.7 million Spit Works Program approved by the Queensland Government.

The survey will be finished in early December.

The pontoon will be completed next year and will be available for use by  recreational and commercial vessels, ferries and emergency services.

We’ve issued a Waterways Notice about the works and Maritime Safety Queensland has also issued a Notice to Mariners.

Design concepts for this project will be released in the new year.
