Doug Jennings Park Improvements
As part of the implementation of The Spit Master Plan we will be delivering landscape improvements in Doug Jennings Park to create more beautiful and relaxed spaces for visitors to enjoy.
THE IMPROVEMENT WORKS INCLUDE:
- Enhancing public spaces along the waterfront to improve views and accessibility
- Improving pathways for better connections throughout the park and waterfront
- Improving event functionality eg: vehicle access and reinforced turf
- Landscaping and planting of shade trees and shrubs
- Shaping of trees to enhance and revitalise
IMPACTS
🚧 During construction, access to certain areas of the park will be restricted including the number of car parks is likely to be reduced to enable the improvements to be undertaken
🚧 Some noise will be generated by construction works
🚧 Updates will be posted on the GCWA Facebook page
IMPORTANT TO KNOW
🌊 Pedestrian access will be maintained to Doug Jennings Park and the water’s edge, however for safety, fencing will be in place around work areas.
🌊 The Seaway Kiosk will remain open and accessible during the works.
🌊 The Seaway emergency access stairs will remain open.

Marine Stadium Foreshore Surrounds
Construction works have commenced to gently enhance the Marine Stadium foreshore surrounds. As part of The Spit Master Plan implementation, these improvements will create greener, more accessible spaces for everyone to enjoy.
THE IMPROVEMENT WORKS INCLUDE:
- An all-abilities pathway to the foreshore
- New landscaping with shade trees
- Addition of picnic furniture
- Seating walls – perfect for relaxed, social gatherings by the water.
