Installation of tide gauges

GCWA is helping to ensure you’re not left high and dry!

We’re partnering with the Department of Science, Information Technology and Innovation (DSITI) and Griffith University to install a series of tide gauge monitoring stations throughout the waterways.

The first five of eight gauges have been installed at:

  • Couran Cove
  • Gold Coast Seaway
  • Jumpinpin
  • Sovereign Island
  • Wave Break Island

This new information will be used to improve safety and navigation as well as providing a greater understanding of tidal activity across the waterways.

This project is an initiative of GCWA’s Science and Innovation Advisory Committee.
