GCWA has factored COVID-19 into our continuity plans and mitigates any risks associated with the virus in our day-to-day operations.
We continue to monitor the COVID-19, adhering to the advice of Queensland Health and the Australian Government as it comes to hand

Where possible, we encourage you to make general enquiries either online or via phone. This includes enquiries about our operations, payment advice, making payments, renewing buoy mooring authorities or applying for permits.

Essential services:
Our waterways team are ensuring navigation aids are working and repaired and our Sand Bypass team will keep the system pumping.
We’ll ensure our team practices social distancing and good hygiene practices.
Events:
We continue to monitor advice from Queensland Health and the Australian Government and will adjust our operations accordingly if the advice changes.
Social distancing on the water:
Boaties should be mindful of social distancing at congestion areas like boat ramps and refueling points.
Anchoring and mooring rules:
Vessel masters are still required to comply with all marine safety and transport related laws for our waterways, which includes anchoring and living onboard rules for Gold Coast waters. For example, a vessel must not remain anchored in Marine Stadium for more than seven consecutive days.
All obligations, requirements and rules remain in effect, until there’s a health directive is issued by the Chief Health Officer that restricts all vessel movement..
GCWA continues to monitor information from the Chief Health Officer in relation to COVID-19 and will provide updates as required.
